Borussia Dortmund striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is desperate to impress his former manager Jürgen Klopp.

The 26-year-old will be facing the German when Dortmund play Liverpool in the Europa League quarter-final on Thursday.

"It is great for us to have this game," said Aubameyang.

"We can show Klopp we have worked hard to get back to where we were and that we have progression.

"It will be a very difficult game, for sure, but we want to show Klopp that we are working very hard.

"I owe him a lot. It was great to work with him and he taught me many things. If I play like this as a striker now, it is because of him."

Aubameyang’s clear admiration for Klopp could also give the Merseyside outfit a chance to sign the Gabon international.

Liverpool, as well as Manchester United and Arsenal, have been linked with moves for the forward.
