Anfield was treated to another enjoyable afternoon on Saturday as Liverpool ran out comfortable 3-0 winners over AFC Bournemouth.

The Reds are now unbeaten in their last 19 home Premier League matches - a run that stretches back nearly a year and represents their best such sequence since August 2009.

Here, we’ve whittled down the many pleasing facets of a victory that tightened Jürgen Klopp’s side’s grip on a top-four spot to a list of five…

25, 300, 121, 40, 82

When Roberto Firmino cut inside and slotted in Liverpool’s third late on, he brought up a couple of goalscoring milestones - one personal, one collective.

Firmino has now scored 25 times in all competitions this season, more than his combined total from his first two campaigns at Anfield.

That Kop-end strike also represented the 300th goal of Klopp’s reign - a tally that has come in just 148 games - and the 121st of 2017-18 alone.

Sadio Mane and Mohamed Salah also got their names on the scoresheet, of course, with the latter doing so for the 40th time this term. Liverpool’s lethal front three have scored 82 goals, and counting, between them this season.

Another clean sheet

While the Reds’ devastating, irresistible attack quite understandably garners so many headlines, the forwards’ defensive colleagues deserve plaudits, too.

In shutting Bournemouth out, Liverpool registered their ninth clean sheet in their last 14 outings - a sequence that has featured the concession of just seven goals.

That marks a significant improvement on the Reds’ previous 14-game run, which saw them concede on 15 occasions.

Terrific Trent

Considering this was another game in which all of Liverpool’s prolific triumvirate netted, the fact Trent Alexander-Arnold was named Man of the Match speaks volumes.

Fresh from another immaculate performance in the Champions League, the 19-year-old right-back was imperious once again here, both defensively and offensively.

The highlight of his display was, undoubtedly, a quite glorious assist for Salah’s brilliantly-taken header. Take a look back at Trent’s best bits versus the Cherries in our video above.

‘Outstanding’ Ox

‘Oxlade-Chamberlain was outstanding as well. That was a midfielder today; quick, good decisions, good technique, good defending. Wow, I liked it.’

It’s fair to say Klopp liked what he saw from his No.21 on Saturday. Oxlade-Chamberlain was relentless - a buzzing, energetic presence in the Reds’ midfield who unselfishly set up Firmino for his goal shortly after arrowing a long-range shot narrowly wide of Asmir Begovic’s post.

‘One James Milner’

Following his Herculean efforts at the heart of Liverpool’s midfield in recent weeks, Milner was afforded a hard-earned rest by Klopp.

The No.7 was called upon from the bench, though, and duly had his name sung by an appreciative Kop as he ran on to replace the irrepressible Mane 13 minutes from time.
