Millstead Special Educational Needs School has thanked Liverpool FC's Red Neighbours team for providing pupils with many 'wonderful' matchday experiences this season.

Children from the school, located close to Anfield in L5, were invited to various Reds home games throughout the 2017-18 campaign as part of Red Neighbours' free ticket initiative.

Pupils with a range of additional needs - both wheelchair users and ambulant children - attended the Huddersfield Town, Chelsea, Southampton and Newcastle United fixtures, with the school receiving 11 tickets for each game.

Lynn Irwin, business manager at Millstead School, said: "Our children have had wonderful experiences attending Anfield to watch the mighty Reds in action this season.

"Providing the children with these opportunities has had a really positive impact and has given families experiences that they wouldn't normally get to have.

"We'd like to send a massive thank-you to Red Neighbours and Liverpool Football Club for these wonderful opportunities."

As part of Red Neighbours' focus on creating memorable experiences for young people, more than 1,000 free tickets will be donated to local schools during the 2017-18 campaign.

Fifty-five tickets are provided for each home game, with 21 primary and four high schools in the L4, L5 and L6 postcodes benefiting across the season.
